It's been too many years since I studied Latin, and of course my old teacher is on holidays right when I need his help.. Oh well maybe someone here can help...
"Be ready!"
Now I know here are about a million translations of "ready" but since it's on our family coat of arms with a knights helm, I believe i would be a reference to a call to arms or the like.
Eos seems to have a great reputation for this type of thing, maybe he could help? <grin>
(I was thinking about getting a small tattoo with our family motto, but I think the Latin version would sound a little more dignified than the scout's motto! ;-) )
