oh, so if I want to -collect- fully-automatic weapons, it's okay? So I should be able to go into a gun store and buy an assault rifle as long as I claim it's for collecting purposes?
It's still a double standard. Kerry doesn't think any civilian should be allowed to own the weapon he owns, it's as simple as that. If he really believes in the idea of gun control, he should adhere to it himself, and at the very least, have the weapon demilled.

And calling me a troll....I suppose that was civilized discussion and not flaming correct?
That was a correct characterization of a post that was purposefully inflammatory and woefully off-topic. We call those posts, and sometimes the posters, "trolls", where I come from, regardless of a poster's rank or seniority. Considering I left out my usual colorful profanity, I'd say it was rather civilized.

Of course it was. The thread is about guns, and the post, instead of addressing the issue, brought up the Iraq war, which is absolutely unrelated except for the forced hypocrisy parallel ("Hey, speaking of guns, what about Iraq? Wholesale slaughter!").
