Edgar, one of the main hidden reasons for invading Iraq was to build several US bases there because we had to leave Saudi Arabia and because of increasing Iran hostility. <--- BBB
Heh. That was THE main reason, not just one of them.
Most people don't realize that we are NEVER going to leave Iraq; the military bases we've built there will be fully staffed in perpetuity. It wouldn't surprise me if we have some nukes sitting around over there as well... just in case.
