What's a Shisha, for the benefit of the hard-of-thinking such as myself?
I have been known to partake of a bong from time to time in the past. I tried smoking B&H in it once. It wasn't very nice. Hookah sounds good though!
out of pure idle interest, where's your uni?
It's amazing. And yes I'm guilty of that too. My friend made a really interesting home-made bong using an old coke bottle, sellotape and the metal funnel of a bunsen burner... Amazing.
Reading. Or it will be. Where are you?
Ah yes, the old coke-bottle bong. We used to use Bic biros (without the inside) as a stem, and the cap covered with perforated tinfoil as the bowl/screen. Could knock one up in around 10 mins usually.
It's been 7 years since I left Uni, but I was at St Andrews when I did go. Although I didn;t graduate 'cos I couldn't be arsed doing even the minimum amount of studying necessary!
Off to bed now. TTFN mate.
lmfao you know we could both go down for this... I don't know what you're talking about pens? drugs? No not me. No no who do you think I am? And the work is what I'm looking least forward to... although Freshers week should be fun. I'm planning to go into debt even with a £1000 surplus from the government student support after the first week... beer. Simple. Helping ugly people get laid since 1895 (or whenever some guy with too much time on his hands decided to try and make a drink out of wheat barley rice and hops). And of course, I'm not going to be a non-smoker when I turn up at the Uni. Who would? Well. Adament non smokers obviously. But you get what I mean.
The todays was published that the number of regular smoking youths went down from 26% to 24% in Germany - ehem, that's the age-group of the 12 to 14 years old, and you are allowed to smoke legally in public from 16 onwards.
It makes you wonder where the kids get all the cigarettes from. Some must be bought by older kids and passed on, but some must be bought in shops - who should checck ID better. Pardon my ignorance, Walter, but do you have national ID cards in Germany, like in Spain and other countries?
We have ID cards.
Since this year, "suspected" youth must prove their age, when buying cigarettes.
In shops, kiosks etc, however, only.
Cigarette selling maschine will be changed within some years - when we get those new digital ID-cards, somewhen.
ID-cards are in use in Germany since the Emperor's time, some states had them even earlier (= earliest 19th century).
In our area, tobacco machines accept tokens only. A token is sold by a cashier who will check ID. Stops underage sales of tobacco products at vending machines. Tokens are not needed in a place where only adults can go.
Well as a former offending UK youth basically the issue I can see here is reputability of tobbaconnists in the UK. There is no problem gettin cigerettes and until resources are diverted to the enforcement of age restrictions on buying cigerettes, those 12 to 14 year olds over here will puff away. And I'm starting to think maybe it's best like this, would you really want enforcement (police) resources diverted away from murder and rape investigations?
Yeh ok it's an exaggeration but the point I'm trying to make is easy to follow. Spend on reducing smoking... or improving community facilities... I know which I prefer.
