I noticed that every language represents animal sounds a little bit differently especially in cartoons and comics. What do animals say in your country? And how about a laugh? Is it ha ha or ja ja?
well, what they say in general: "wow wow" or "wau wau" for a dog, "miau" or something like this for a cat etc...
Ok Thok and what do the birds say?
like "zwitscher zwitscher" .
And sheep? What do they say?
Wow Thok,! That is so cool, how the animals speak differently in every language.
OK how about a horse?
that's difficult, but I think the comics represent they with "brr brr".
Thanks Thok, anymore you can think of I'll be waiting.
Its all about the "jaja's" here.
si senor! When I write ha ha in Spanish I use ja ja.
OK so here're some Polish ones (transformed into English sounds) :
Dog- Hau Hau
Horse- iiihaaa (can't write it better sorry:)) - it ain't looks like a neigh I know
Cat- miau
Pig- hrum hrum
Hen- ko ko ko
sparrow - cvir cvir
duck - kva kva
Thanks Mateu and BD...very interesting....quack quack
That'd be kvack kvack in swedish!
And the rooster goes kuckekliku at 5 A.M..
Slovak:
Dog- Hav Hav
Horse- Míhaha
Cat- mňau
Pig- kroch kroch
Hen- kotkodák
sparrow - čvirik čvirik
duck - kač kač
rooster: kikirikí
Even more interesting: I heard a report on NPR that British scientist found out that ducks have accents! They quack differently in London and differently in Leeds!
