Really, must we do this, McG?

When you enact legislation that prevents others from properly researching something, McG, you are opposing it.

You know that Bush doesn't have a full understanding of the issue, do I really need to hunt down transcripts of Bush talking about it to show you?

We've been over this before.... stem cell research is too important to be held back by the fringes of the anti-abortion movement.

It is also a research in it's infancy.

Explain to me ONE thing that can't be researched using chimpanzee stem cells that can be researched using human stem cells.

McG wrote: "until experimentation on plants and animals proves without a doubt that the research is sound. So far it all theoretical. "

Are you listening to YOURSELF ? ALL research is theoretical. That's why scientists DO research, to prove or disprove the theories. Then they become (or do not become) facts.

As you well know, there are far too few existing embryonic stem cell lines, which is why new lines need to be created.

McG also said: "Bush opposes federal funding for creating more fetuses to be experimented on".

Aaaaand here we have it, the abortion argument. Notice the not-so-subtle use of the word fetus. When does "viable human life" begin ? etc, etc, etc.

As this thread was not intended to go down THAT pointless path, I will try once again to bring us back to the original list by reposting a few BUSH APPOINTEE QUOTES:

"Horn said that low-income kids whose parents aren't married should be last in line for Head Start and other benefits"

""The battered women's movement has outlived its useful beginnings."

""concern for rape victims is a red herring because conceptions from rape occur with approximately the same frequency as snowfall in Miami."

angie, if you knew anything about me, you would know that I am not one of those people that makes an arguement for or against abortion.

But, you want to get your thread back on track, so I'll let it go.
