evasion of issue is the first way of avoiding answering. When youre done posturing an want to answer my point directly.

I answered your point directly. You asked why the NRA would not allow something, and I told you exactly what the objection to it was.

No. I factually told you that assault weapons bans do not ban such receivers, and that the only thing they do is ban harmless cosmetic features like pistol grips.

If you are under any illusions that assault weapons bans are about anything other than pistol grips then you are severely misinformed.

No. That is the one thing that I don't do. I always respond with exact facts.

(That isn't a claim of infallibility. I can be mistaken now and then. But I'm certainly never deceptive.)

I agree completely.

I've not spent any time on a reciprocal forum where the predominant POV was conservative, but I am convinced that in such a case, the members wouldn't be making feeble arguments about how they are actually moderate or even left of center. The majority of them would proudly declare as conservatives.

With some notable exceptions, all of the progressives here seem to want to be considered moderates. I think that, in part, this is a set up for accusing those who degree with them to be extremists.

To paraphrase Gollum, "Tricksy liberals!"
