@Leadfoot,

There is nothing objective about your assertion.

Don't bother. He thinks he drops these comments of brilliance in a thread but then refuses to debate them.

@InfraBlue,
Try it like this:
Leadfoot: ['quote]I wanna tell you.....['/quote] Without the apostrophe after [.
It'll look like this:
Quote:
I wanna tell you.....

My reply wasn't snarky. It was matter-of-factly.

I forgot to put "=" between "quote" and "Leadfoot."

@InfraBlue,
So what was your point?

That mundane decisions that virtually no one makes on the basis of faith are stupid if a few chose to make them on that basis?

Wow! Stop the presses!

@Finn dAbuzz,
My point is that since faith is based on resonance it's a poor basis on which to act, especially in regard to decisions that affect others, because it lacks objectivity.

@InfraBlue,
I agree with you, but that's precisely the problem. Those with faith believe they are objective.

@InfraBlue,
And again you won't provide us with support for why it is "poor" other than the obvious fact that you really, really like what you consider to be "objectivity."

@cicerone imposter,
And where did you come up with this brilliant observation?

They actually do not, because they understand what faith is.

@Finn dAbuzz,
What's the difference between faith and belief? And what is the difference between faith and hope?

@Glennn,
I guess it depends upon your definition of "belief"

Personally I don't think there is much of a difference because I define "belief" as an acceptance of a statement.

The actual difference arises from secondary definitions in which "faith" must be involved with "God" I don't pay this any mind.

Hope involves a desire for a certain outcome or truth. Now it can be argued that many people of faith desire that which they believe in, but it is not necessarily the case.

For example: Personally, I'm ultimately OK with what might be the fact that there is no God; and/or there is no hereafter: If this is the case, I'll die and that will be it. I won't be floating around in the Void in some metaphysical bubble tortured by the recognition of my non-existence.

I'm not afraid of a universe without God, and if what resonates within me proves to be untrue, there will be no "I" to care.

It makes sense to me that there is a God and a hereafter.

I can't prove it, so I have faith in it.

We can expect the anti-faith crowd here to now weigh in on their notions of fundamentalist Christians and these questions, but won't that be ridiculously narrow?
