Adelaide is cool simply because it belongs to Australia and, of course, their footy teams are great training for the premiership

What are you talking about MC, Adelaide don't have any footy teams.
Or were you talking about aerial ping pong? Razz

Adrian,

Don't go there. Those codes in which the ball is rarely kicked (and then badly) hardly merit description as football.

ppppffffttt....rugby doesn't deserve to be considered a sport. It should be called 'controlled wrestling with a ball'

Gozmo, I feel it is essential that I 'go there' because the issue of APP vs Rugby goes to the core of this entire debate. Your claim that the ball is 'rarely' and 'badly' kicked in rugby is a horrible slander on the sport. Andrew Johns, Hasim El Masri, Matt Burke, these are some of the best kickers of the oval ball anywhere, in any sport.

MC, (May I call you Santos?) Wrestling FAR surpasses APP in popularity worldwide and is most certainly a sport. They compete in the olympics you know. When do they play the Aerial Ping Pong World Cup? I seem to have missed it thus far in my life.

Adrian,

When I see one of those guys drop it on the chest of a moving target from 60 metres I'll retract. In the meantime let me say even the Crows have 35 on their list who can kick better than those guys.

Wrestling may be an Olympic Event but then so are ping pong and synchronised swimming.

BTW, I like Rugby, and basketball and hurling, great games all, but football< NOT>

The point of kicking the ball upfield in Rugby is to NOT drop it on the other guys chest so I doubt you'll ever see that. There are many players who can and do kick the ball accurately over 60 metres though. The part about the Crows I find extremely difficult to believe given that they only have 39 and 3 of those are rookies.

BTW, I like AFL, and Melbourne, but football and better than Sydney.....

I've often wondered why rugby players are so short, squat & lumpy. Is there a reason for this? Is it an advantage in the game?

Not all rugby players are short, squat and lumpy. Some of them are quite nicely put together - look at Lote Tuquiri.

But the greatest collection of good legs is surely AFL.

Sir/Madame Cheese, aka Santos.

Yes I like The Simpsons very much. That episode's one of the funnier ones.

Sydney take on St Kilda tonight in the ping pong.

An important battle in this ongoing war.

Who IS better?
