when you stand at the top of a small hill and shove chicken-embryos down the slope.
still in the case I assume or they wouldn't roll very well.....
I'm guessing that egg rolls are also a Chinese-American invention, like chicken balls with cherry sauce.
Oh yeah...my addiction, Sweet and Sour Chicken.
So this begs the question, when is Chinese food not Chinese food?
BTW Onyx-guffaw.
The Lovely Bride's cashew chicken and her Lobster Cantonese. My gal is a wizard with a wok!
DONALD FAGEN LYRICS
GREEN FLOWER STREET
Uptown
It's murder out in the street
Uptown
It's murder out in the street
That's where I found my mandarin plum
That's where you'd be if you found one
Where the nights are bright
And joy is complete
Keep my squeeze on Green Flower Street
Since May
There's trouble most every night
Where once we danced our sweet routine
It reeks of wine and kerosene
Where the nights are bright
And joy is complete
Keep my squeeze on Green Flower Street
There's a special place for lovers
One we understand
There where neon bends in daylight sky
In that sunny room she soothes me
Cools me with her fan
We're drifting
A thousand years roll by
Lou Chang
Her brother he's burning with rage
Lou Chang
Her brother he's burning with rage
I'd like to know what's on his mind
He says hey buddy you're not my kind
Where the nights are bright
And joy is complete
Keep my squeeze on Green Flower Street
How's Lobster Cantonese prepared George?

heeeheee -- It is a stupid sounding name, isn't it? I think you might know them as Spring Rolls?
Mmm, I like spring rolls.
Equally silly name though, if you ask me.
I can't believe that no one has mentioned orange/tangerine peel beef/chicken. There are many variations, almost all are delicious.
Fortune -- Yep. Yep. Stupid name... tasty snack.
Hey Fortune, Egg rolls are fried...spring rolls are much better for you. It is hard to know what we "made up" and call Chinese, isn't it? There are restaurants around town that serve it all: Cam's offers "exquisite Chinese, Cantonese, and Thai..." It's all the same as I see it...and it's all delish.
Spring rolls are also fried, unless served cold, when they are generally labelled 'fresh spring rolls' or 'cold spring rolls.' Also, the wrapping for egg rolls and spring rolls is quite different. Egg rolls use a heavy, thick egg-based wrapper, while spring rolls use very thin, rice-based sheets. Fresh spring rolls are more likely to be found in Thai restaurants. They are not a Chinese tradition.
Well I think I've had both. Ever heard of something called a Chiko roll? I have no idea where it comes from but it's much like a spring roll but with the thicker wrapping.
Boy I am really confused now.
Jus gimme two of dem chinese burritos right der, and some a dat plum gravy
fortune, the Chiko roll is uniquely Aussie, I'm afraid.

Rightio Cav. Knew I could depend on you!
I love Thai spring rolls the best...cause they're served with peanut sauce..yum. Canadian Chinese food is so different than American, I'm always surprised.
