@bobsal u1553115,
I took the test and answered all the questions honestly.
My Political Compass read as:

Economic Left/Right -5.25

@revelette2,
After her miraculous conversion from intractable rightwingnut Shrub voter to born again Bernie town cryer, now she's full enough of bile and unmitigated gall to go about pointing and calling others not genuine enough.

@snood,
I've only been a democrat my whole voting life, I have just never been the type to get all het up, kind of why I like Obama so much I guess, kind of laid back like myself.

@revelette2,
The questions and your honest answers place you on the grid where you belong.
You don't have to be "passionate," just honest in your answers and in the place your answers locate you on the grid.

The fact that you refuse to do that, I think, says something about who you really are.

Ask yourself why you refuse to answer.

@Lash,
I don't know why you care so much, but anyway, on the multiple choice answers it has Strongly disagree or disagree or Strongly agree or agree. I just naturally agree something or I don't, I rarely have strong emotions. The wording of the test seemed kind of dumb to me. See the way I word the last sentence, I am just naturally passive aggressive. (unless really roused to a temper)

@revelette2,
I had a hard time answering some of the questions as agree or disagree. I dont like the test and the way its laid out. Beside that I dont need no damn test to tell me what I already know. Im liberal and always have been.

@revelette2,
If you don't strongly agree, don't say strongly agree. It's easy to answer honestly. You must have wound up with a conservative score.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who think they're liberal, but they really don't have anything to base that on. They just sort of go with the flow around them.

You don't know why I care so much?? LOL. Funny coming from someone who comments obsessively about me and my political beliefs.

Feels weird, doesn't it?

@RABEL222,
Forced choice questionnaires can be difficult but they do tend to get to the truth of an issue - but only when the person being assessed is the person completing the questionnaire.

Somewhere there's an old post (or several) by nimh on the subject.

@Lash,
I have never claimed to be liberal, I am a democrat. I believe in the democrat platform and I have for quite some time. Frankly I do not care what some Johnny come lately thinks of my political beliefs.

@revelette2,
Revelette, What was your opinion when Ralph Nader chose to run as a third party candidate rather than running as a Democratic candidate?

You can either have progressives be part of the Democratic party, or you can exclude us from the Democratic party. If you choose to exclude us, then you can't count on our votes (which turns out to be over 40% of the votes so far).

The idea that Bernie and his supporters aren't true Democrats is both insulting and counterproductive.

@maxdancona,
You said all that needs to be said: either the party adapts and "evolves" or it heads down the same toilet vertex the GOP is swirling in circles in right now.

Relevance makes and breaks a party.

First off, Bernie Sanders is an independent, he describes himself as a socialist democrat but he is officially an Independent Senator of the US. I haven't said he wasn't a progressive, I am not sure what the term denotes it has been thrown around so much, usually towards Hillary supporters in a negative way.

Second, I don't want to exclude anyone and I sure as the world have no authority to count or not count your votes. Bernie Sanders chose to join the DNC and count himself a democrat, he has that right and I respect it.

It is better for the democrats that he did he so as we have seen when Ralph Nader ran as an independent, it took votes away from Gore. Since Sanders has run as a democrat, when the democrat nominee is finally picked, there will be no Ralph Nader taking votes away from the winner of the democratic party in the general. So, I am glad Bernie ran as a democrat.

When Clinton and her allies claim that Sanders is not really a Democrat, it feels like a kick in the teeth. I am a registered Democrat, and Sanders represents my views far better than Clinton does.

The Clintons, in my view, represent the worst part of the Democratic establishment. The argument is being made that I will need to vote for Hillary Clinton because I am a Democrat.

Do you see why this line of attack is frustrating to people who Clinton will then ask to support her?

@maxdancona,
When Clinton and her supporter claim Sanders is not really a democrat, they are speaking nothing but the plain fact. Can you not get it through your head? He is an Independent and is proud that he is the longest serving independent in congressional history. It is on his website along with the catchy slogan of "feelthebern."

This test is WAY too simplified to really give an accurate representation of someone's beliefs.

For instance, several of these questions I have literally no opinion on or I lack the knowledge needed to have an informed opinion. Or the options are just too limited.

Let's take capitol punishment; the question asks "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth." For the most part I disagree with the death penalty. But not in every case. I think Timothy McVeigh deserved to die, for example. This question is far to general to accurately reflect my opinion on the death penalty.

Or how do I answer this question:

"A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system."

I mean, that would be a HUGE advantage to a one-party state. That doesn't mean that I want a one-party state.
