"Mulier Medio Mundo Mei"?

Hi!

I stumbled upon this community just this morning, and immediately saw that I would enjoy this place!

So therefore I joined, hoping to contribute as well as maybe get some answers to my many questions. Smile

And here is my first question, accompanied by the background to it:

I've coined the following phrase: "The woman is the centre of my world", in swedish: "Kvinnan är min världs mitt". Or at least I haven't seen it elsewhere yet... Embarrassed Well, anyway, I thought that maybe it would be possible to translate this phrase into latin, using the words "mulier", "medius", "mundus" and "meus". I've thought about it, and I've come up with this: "Mulier medio mundo mei".

Now I wonder - could I possibly have come up with something correct in terms of grammatics?

I'm not at all sure - I think that "medio mundo" should be in the same case as "mulier", or...? And I'm not really sure about "mei", (n)either... I just get so confused sometimes... Confused You see, two years of latin studies isn't much, right? I'm going to search for a good text book so that I can study by myself, as I don't like the idea of going back to school!

Any kind of help would be much appreciated! If the phrase can't be translated using those exact words - although it would look good with those four m's, wouldn't it? Smile - then I guess I could live with another wording...

Btw, english is my second language, so feel free to point out my mistakes so that I may learn from them and don't just repeat them over and over again! Smile

Your english is good. But what you wrote in Latin is more likely to be translated as "My wife for all the world to see".
what you wanted it to say was,
"medius mundi mei mulier".

Thank you very much, Eos! Smile (Or should I say: Gratias tibi ago! Smile)

My mind is now at peace. Cool
