Once I played the profoundly mournful little song "Maginot Waltz" (by Ralph McTell) to my students and was surprised to find out none of them got the purport of the song because they had no clue as to who "Lord Kitchener" was, so they could not place the lyrics in context...
Well, it made a nice homework task Very Happy
