I basically need the english words ''good party'' dirrectly translated in latin, but I found like 10 different variations of good and you can not trust those online translators and what not. Can anyone please help out? (:
@doxob,
The adjective "good" is
bonus -a -um.
Of course it must agree in gender, number and case with the word it modifies.
What word are you using for "party"?
@George,
we are using festum. So I assume it's going to be bonum festum? Doesn't sound too appealing. Is there any more appealing equivalent with a synonym to festum that goes together with bona? Thank you
@doxob,
There is a word
polluctura which is used for a lavish or sumptuous party.
I don't know whether you find that more appealing.
@George,
Sorry if its getting old, but how would you say celebration; occasion; emotions; vibe; atmosphere; all in a correct combination of Bona/ bonum? You probably caught the drift with these synonyms :p , I'm looking for something that will describe a good party and still sound pretty catchy / fonetically appealing. Your help is much appreciated
@doxob,
Probably the best way to do this is for you to look up the words you want at
Tufts Perseus Project.
It seems you already know how to match the gender (
bonus -a -um).
Let me know if you have any questions.
