I have a very important application due, and I am not sure that this sentence I wrote is grammatically correct: "Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, all I knew about Russia was that it was the largest country on a map, yet no one ever spoke of it." Is the first clause modifying the correct subject (correct subject being "I" not "all I knew")?

@amandak,
It sounds like a perfectly fine sentence to me. Maybe you could say, "what I knew about Russia..." I am not anal professor tho. Just an opinion.
