@Pantalones,
My SS guy is quite a phenomenon, but I could use another, so that I can take advantage of Brock Holt's many positive playing attributes when other players are off. But, I don't want to get rid of any of my batters, much less my pitchers. <grumbles>

You guys are such moralists!
Since I was on autopick, I got all the wife-punchers and steroid-suckers, even if I had degraded them on the pre-draft rankings.
And I got no playing 3B!

I got Ryan Braun. Trade you him for Greinke?

That's funny. I auto-drafted 4 playing 3B!

@Ticomaya,
Getting number one isn't always the luckiest thing either, there can be big blankouts of fine players until the next pick.

I had marvelous pitchers on my list, I swear...
I also listed about ten who were good at holds - nope! none showed up.

I just made some changes, a matter I am usually cautious or completely incautious about. Bye Bye, Grichuk, I'll miss you..
Bye, bye, Ramos (weeps)

By the way, why am I in third place. Pants, who is beating me, is in ninth? Is that just a matter of whether someone was here last year or not? Did I sign up third?
Not that you know, George or Johnboy or anyone - just curious.

@fbaezer,
I tend to be moralistic on some of these matters and not others. Cough. Braun never gets on my list, or that doppus* who put stuff on his hands, Michael Something. I let whatshisname into my Preferred Players list (I forget already, the guy who shot his garage.... I let him stay pretty high up), but he didn't make the team.

*doppus, what the nuns used to call some of us back in elementary school. Snort, mostly they were boys.

Pancho, did you put them in Do Not Draft column? That's where I throw the ones I ill-treat, and they don't show up on the autopick of my Preferred Players list.

It's Week 1. The standings are just placeholders.

You're right, it does have to do with when you signed up.

If the standings were for real, there's no way that George would be in second.

Probably I'm misremembering when one can make changes to one's roster -
I can't make changes for today with players with a ^ (I call that a carot) in front of the players name, and I do remember that, I think, having to do with the timing before a game starts.

But I can't make changes re people who will be playing this evening. Is this a new thing? My forgetfulness? Only happening to me and my fool computer? A new trick from Yahoo?

Anyway, I had to leave the website just to get out of there (frozen), and then go reclick on my desktop icon for fantasy baseball, and then click on today and the original whole roster, so I left it. Whew.

@ossobuco,
You can make changes if the game has not started.

@fbaezer,
I couldn't last I tried - of the ones without ^, one starts around 2 my time, and the other around 5. It's now 11:39 here.

I'll try it again.

@ossobuco,
OK, now I see they put an x in front of LAD for Panik. I almost swear that wasn't there before.
Assuming I'm wrong about that, it makes sense now - thanks.

@ossobuco,
I believe there is a timeframe before the game to make changes...sort of recall an hour before game-time limit but it might be even less than that.

I also have a different player availability question:
If you've picked someone up on waivers....and the date is listed as April 5th, when does said player become available to you?

I' d thought I had 2 moves that were set to be OK on April 5...dropped one player (Holt) but he was still on my team..as of April 5th.

Also I added a player (Nicasio) who was allegedly available for use on April 5th but didn't become useable until April 6.

Commish or anyone, can you help me out?

.

Of course, with my dropping of Holt, lit him on fire. He's doing his best Reggie-Jackson imitation.

@Ragman,
I think you get the waiver through on such and such a day, and it shows up in the next day's lineup.

I too remember there was a point you couldn't switch before a game, my guess being about 45 minutes before the game. Don't know if that is still true, though.

Meantime, Ms. Whiny sees that Rougned Odor actually hit a home run ... day after I dropped him. He has a wobbly history, starting a season poorly and ending great. The first week was wobbly.

@ossobuco,
Thanks, I think you're right there about the timing. I just get misled when I think they call the date 'April 5th' ...but it's really April 6.

I think you're luck is somewhat like mine when you drop someone, they go off like a 4th-of-July fireworks.

As for Roughneck, is he the one that strikes out a lot?

@Ragman,
79 k last year, but part of the year was disastrous and part was good - don't remember how that worked re K.

Yes, I've famously to myself (and Tico would remember) given up on people early. Sometimes that has been a terrible idea and others, a work of genius..

I remember being very lucky to pick Correa just as he was joining the majors, but I don't remember if I did that during the season or as part of the preferred list. Likely that was in season, and I would have gotten rid of someone to do that.

As with any transaction, the player goes on your roster the following day.
