Hi English teachers,
why is the English words in the law books and the land contracts so hard to understand?What can I do to understand this type of English?The English grammar is totally different.

Much of it is due to survivals, which is to say, older forms of English which are no longer in conversational or literary use, but which are retained in law because of the innate conservatism of legal code.

It's due to lawyers wanting their job security. If they make it complex and very hard to understand, then you have to hire a lawyer to decipher it. They'd want contracts written in Latin or Greek if they could.
