During the Bush Administration the Democrats fabricated a bunch of nonsense about atrocities at Guantanamo so they could attack the Republicans about it.
The Democrats now want to move the POWs to US soil so they can fabricate a claim that "things are different now" thereby preventing them from being tarnished with the nonsense that they concocted about Guantanamo.
The Republicans question why the taxpayers should have to pay to build a whole new facility just so the Democrats can avoid being tarnished by their own lies.
