Six inches of snow shut the place down? They have no snow plows, no salt trucks? I'm reminded of a storm in Virginia in 1973 when three inches of snow paralyzed the state--sort of. The southerners were driving around at about 10 or 15 miles an hour, white knuckles on the steering wheels. But that part of the state is full of military bases. The boys from Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc., were blowing by them at 50 miles an hour. The southerners would stomp on their breaks, spin out and wind up in the ditch. Of course, it was southern Virginia, so three days later it was 70 degrees and no snow in sight.
