So, I'm new.

Can you either direct me to a thread that says where everyone is from or could you just not be a dick and tell me if you're male/female and location?

Maybe age group of everyone here?
Things I should know?

Er, dick?

Me, I'm from Melbourne, a self styled femme fatal.

If you go to the gallery (link at the top right of your screen) you'll find some pics of a few regulars here.

As for age, there was a recent thread in philosophy asking people their age but I don't know if there are any in others.

Some people just prefer to be enigmatic, most make no secret of where and what they are. If you really want to know about someone, I recommend you ask 'em.

Have you noticed a lot of "dick" round here?

Most of 'em seem pretty darn friendly to me Smile

Really isn't anything like you're askin' for, really; sorta hard to do for a site with nearly 20,000 members and close to a million articles, some in threads thousands of replies long, and adding to the list every day.

There are folks here from everywhere ... all over the world, literally, from Alaska to Australia, from London to Tokyo. I'd say the "agegroup" runs from 'teens to eighties, though I'm sure there are both younger and older ones here and there from time to time.

About the only thing you should "Know" is how things work around here. For a shortcourse in that, if you click on the color-formatted links down at the bottom of any of my posts, you'll find the A2K FAQ, which answers lots of basic "How To" questions, the A2K Help Forum, which is the place to ask for specialized help with A2K features and functions, and the A2K Terms of Service, which pretty much is the law around here. That boils down pretty simply; keep it civil, no spam, porn, gratuitous vulgarity, hatespeech or personal attacks/flame wars. Poke around some and enjoy exploring the place ... and don't worry, you can't break anything.

In the meanwhile, here are a few threads you might want to check out, to sorta get "The Lay of The Land" and start to get to know "Who's Who".

Welcome to the New Members A place the new folks get a chance to meet some of the folks who've been around a while longer

How Did You Come to Know About This Site Lots of folks have told how they found this place, and told a bit about themselves

What Made You Smile Today A nice chatty thread frequented by lots of regulars here, the title pretty much sets the tone. Good place to get to know folks

Lola At The Coffeehouse Another hangout for lots of regulars

Well, howdy back at you. Most folks here don't give a ratsass about how many years one has. If you must know, first, guess how old a particular member is (guess low - it really makes me feel happy when people guess low.) then, ask them if it really matters to you.

I am from the generation which invented the generation gap, which first said (we thought) "Don't trust anyone over thirty." (I'll bet Roman teenagers said something very close to that.)

I think you'll find most of here to be thoughtful, truthful and funny, not necessarily in that order on any day of the week. I hope you will drop into Lola's, write a really solid comment on any of the political threads, or share one of your poems in the Original Writing.

You will make friends here, or at least, meet with them once in awhile.

Joe

This is for you. I'm 50 something or other, I never pay attention to how many candles there are on that damned cake. I live in New York City with the most talented, smartest woman in the world. She's the most talented because she helps design the most beautiful clothes in the universe, she's the smartest because she knows when to roll her eyes when I am way off the beam.....

Oh yeah, read my profile......

And welcome, welcome, welcome......

Joe Nation, how lucky she is to have someone who speaks so nicely of her when she's not around. I had a lot of she&her's in that sentence, so I hope it made sense.

most carry a "married but looking" title. bah...

You can always click on a member's http://www.able2know.com/forums/templates/Able2Know/images/lang_english/icon_profile.gif button down at the bottom of that member's posts to see if there's anything interesting there (not everybody fills out a profile, and some folks just plain ain't very interestin' anyhow Mr. Green )
Clicking on a member's name over there on the left in the avatar/membername-and-info panel will take you to a listing of that member's posting history, with links to the posts.

I'm 25, fit, trim, ruggedly handsome, intellectually gifted, incredibly talented, independently wealthy, single, loyal, sensitive, trusting and trustworthy, deeply religious, and extremely giving. I love kittens and children, piƱa coladas, romantic music, and sunset walks on the beach.

Welcome Ft. Hood. If you're an Army brat it's like everything else. If not, it's a chat room with agendas and some extremely fascinating people. Open up and expect good and that's what you will get. Cop a 'tude...etc.
No surprise! There are proverbial "Chat Rats" in every room.
They LIVE here and never sleep. There is Wisdom and occasionally times when God winks. (That's a secret.)
It just may be that some of us prayed you here.

I may be one of the people who live here.

I just woke up, grabbed some wheat thins and water ....and hopped right back to this forum.

Okay, a part of it is because I'm obsessed with trying to find/guess where my honeymoon is (thread on this forum).

UGh.

Morning everyone.

Good morning! It is now a few minutes past 3am in the Great South Land and I'm once again entertaining my insomnia here on A2K.

I hope you find the answer you're looking for soon, Joahaeyo!

fortune, I keep thinking everyone lives in my world and worlds outside of TEXAS don't exist.

Nick-at-Nite is usually my cure to insomnia. These message boards make it hard to sleep b/c I end up in a debate which only stimulates my brain - - keeping me up.

Hope you don't have to work in the morning. Smile

That's interesting. I've lived in over 5 countries that I'm pretty much the opposite.
