I love dogs, so I suggest you buy a little, black Poodle and name it "Happy'.

There is no "better" here. What you get should depend on what you like and want. It should also depend on a variety of issues. Can you and do you want to walk a dog several times a day?

Also, instead of buying a cat or dog, I encourage you to adopt a rescue animal. They are wonderful (I've had four--three cats, one dog).
