Hi There,
Can you please suggest if the below draft is grammatically correct?

The original sentence is: "I am used to live in town"

What would be the correct way if I want to say the above sentence in the past? [I actually need to say I am used to do that in the past, Kindly note that I am aware of the difference between "I am used to" VS "I used to"]

Can we put that in this way?
I was used to live in town [I used to live in town is not quite appropriate I guess]

Thanks
Thilee

@thilee,
Thil, I think the original was meant to say "..living..," in which case,
I was accustomed to that form of life, whereas "I used to live in town" means I did live there at a time in the past

It's all in the context, Thil. "I am used to live in town" means tho my life might have numerous other uses, the one presently in force requires me to abide in the city

The sentence should be: "I am used to living in town."

For the past you could say: "I was used to living in town."

Thanks for sharing that
Quite welcome, Thil. Others criticize me mercilessly for finding the abstruse meaning
