Is asking girl at this moment is like begging?

A girl loves me and told me about same,some months back.
She said she would tell her parents at very that moment. I could not take decision that fast and said needed time. She said she will either say now or never afterwards.
We remained silent for 4 months.Now her parents have engaged her with one guy.
I tried convincing her and told her to tell their parents. She is not listening. She said she cant put their parents down at this moment.

Will convincing her more seems like bargaining? Or begging for something which she doesn't like or want to.

Can anyone suggest a possible step to be taken at this moment.
