Could I use on? In our region, many people use on this way.

-Please remember to look at the powerpoint slides for inspiration __ the arguments that you are going to use in the essay.

The usual word after inspiration is for, but the problem is, human beings have the habit of avoiding repetition and for has already occurred once in the sentence, so many non-natives avoid using for. I'm not sure whether using on is correct English.

"On" or "about" would work. Don't assume, however, that native speakers always avoid repetition just because it is repetition. You could use "for" and native speakers would not find it odd or awkward.
