I considered that, suzy, and even ran the idea by my girlfriend, Gertrude, but she started screaming and hitting me with one one those wooden rolling pins and eventually I had to acquiesce to her demands.

Yeah - looks like we're next on the list for trying to make people get out of Iraq. Sigh.

This is all so bloody ironic! Thing is, the majority of Ozzians opposed the war - and the Opposition leader, if elected in the next few months, has promised to get our troops out BASED ON HIS PARTY'S PRE-EXISTING OPPOSITION.

They would be replaced with a significant re-build the place contingent.

Of course, such a contingent will need protection - and I don't think we could really expect the US to do it! I'd say we are firmly stuck .And, given that - against the people's wishes - the damned government put us in there, I think we are honour bound to assist Iraq in every way possible to rebuild.

So - as a firmly anti-bloody-war person, I am now in the ridiculous position of thinking our troops should stay!

Also - the USA - since Labor announced the troops out policy - has been busily interfering in our domestic affairs by having people - including Bush - from YOUR government, threatening us, and trying to influence Australians' decisions about whom to vote for at the next election.

THIS makes any decent red-blooded Ozzian want to withdraw the damn troops, blow raspberries at your president, and bare our collective bums at your damn government! And remove the word American from all goods and services - you know - freedom fries and such stupidity.

Very complex. Kinda funny, in a black way.

Anyway - we have an active terrorist group linked to Al Quaeda merrily active in Indonesia - and there have been very large thefts of fertiliser going on here - the kind used in the Bali bombings perpetrated by that group.

I would say that we are very likely to have some terror incidents here - if our police and such folk can't track 'em down before they hit.
