@bobsal u1553115,
what the hell

you arrive in Oregon and there's a mass shooting

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/10/01/officials-active-shooter-oregon-college/73153610/

Quote:
As many as 10 people were killed and 20 injured when a shooter opened fire at Umpqua Community College Thursday in southern Oregon, Oregon State Police told KGW-TV.

The shooter was killed, according to police.

Police received a call of an active shooter in a classroom at the college at 10:30 a.m., local time, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

"Active shooter at UCC. Please stay away from the area," Fire District No. 2 that serves Douglas County said on Twitter.

@ehBeth,
About 15 miles from here. Just isn't the sort of place one would expect it in. People here are invariably friendly and courteous.

The AirBNB doesn't have a TV, the information we saw last about 5:00 on line was still sketchy.

I'm leaving Texas because too many people armed and stupid. Except Austin.

Religion seems to have some play.

@FBM,
There's two levels of consumer: medicinal who have access to hash oil, pot, plants and edibles and recreational who get pot and plants.

The limits for recreational is 1/4oz and four plants at one time per day. The price for the best pot is $10/gram and I don't know about the plants and an unlimited amount of seeds.

So far, so good!

@roger,
I am just finishing JillyBean which was awesome, going back to Chocolate Chunk next. $10 a gram in Washington as well. The place that I go rotates the stock well, it is at the perfect moisture. Most days I have at least 40 choices, usually more, plus all the edibles and the stuff like that.

I told my brother in Texas about the prices and quality that I get, he called me a liar. On the other hand we have almost the highest booze taxes in the nation....

@FBM,
The quality is good and the prices are right. There is no glut, and the budtenders I've talked to aren't crying about the prices. For the highest taxes on alcohol in the nation, drink prices are cheaper here than in Texas. A premium Margarita here is $6.50. A G&T is $4.50. A bottle of Blue Moon is the same price as Bud Lite - $3.00.

The growers are very, very happy here in Oregon.

@bobsal u1553115,
Sweet. Am very glad to hear that. That and the tax revenues garnered by the state make it a win-win-win situation, I think.

@izzythepush,
Izzy, I can't get that address to highlte or open.

The stores here aren't so funky. We're still at the stage of being 'serious' about this new phase. For example, the reason I've heard that recreational users (not being called a pothead but recreational user is too serious) being allowed to buy pot candies or other edibles is to keep kids from getting any.

@FBM,
Washington state last month collected more tax from pot than from alcohol. The nation is ready.

@bobsal u1553115,
How about this? Dope has been 'legal' for a long time in Amsterdam, and they've really pushed the envelope.
