This might matter to fans of Ta-Nehisi Coates and those who have read comics. He's contracted to write a year long story line for the Black Panther character in Marvel Comics. The Black Panther is King of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, and was first introduced in the pages of the Fantastic Four comic way back in 1966. A fascinating and powerful character; it will be very interesting to find out what Coates does with it - how he makes the stories current and relevant. I'm a big time fan of Marvel Comics from wa-a-ay back, so I'm all excited!
@snood,
He's happening, huh! I'm looking forward to it - I'd never heard of the character, but I can't help thinking what a great medium of influence for a lot of kids - and everybody.
Heh. I've gotta get off the computer and finish my book.
