Does he really think the American people are this stupid that they will but this? And he accuses Kerry of flip-flopping?

I know it is hard to believe that he said:

"I want to be your peace president." Isn't it? It's too bizarre, right?

Harper- If a member makes a statement attributing a quote to someone, it is appropriate that he shows the source of the quote. Otherwise, how do we know if the writer is making something up?

If you make a statement, please back it up!

One has only to peruse the front page of nytimes.com to find the story:

Quote:
But Mr. Bush noted: "The enemy declared war on us. Nobody wants to be the war president. I want to be the peace president. The next four years will be peaceful years.'' He repeated the words "peace'' or "peaceful'' many times, as he has done increasingly in his recent appearances.

Does this mean we are bringing the troops home? Another Marine was killed yesterday. Bush's declarations are becoming more and more Orwellian.

I wanted you to think I was making it up. I wish I was. I wish this was all just a bad dream.

OK. But you still have not offered a source.

BTW posters here post all kinds of nonsense on a daily basis (e.g. Clinton porked teenage interns, killed cats, etc.) and are not challenged by the right, please don't lecture me.

I'm nowhere near the right, I just like seeing helpful links. Links are fun, c'mon!

the front page of nytimes.com

PS you have to subscribe but you could probably read any account of Bush's stump speech and find it. Why don't you read at least the front page of any morning paper before challenging the validity of what even at this early hour should be common knowledge. Oops, I bet I know what it is. Drudge, Fox or Rev. Moon probably hasn't covered it yet.

Toying with people is even more fun. BTW Bush is seeking a second term.

So, the issue was just that "I want to be your peace president" wasn't coming up with any results, and it did seem like a rather strange thing for Bush to say, so we were all taken back a bit. Anyway, now that I know that the quote is actually "I want to be the peace president," not "your," I was able to find a few good links using Google (all are linking to the same Reuters article, basically).

I'm confused as to how someone can go from being a "war president" to a "peace president" when he has only spread war in the time between those quotes.

Remind me not to read or respond to any more of your posts. I find your attitude quite obnoxious!

Thanks, my original source for the quote was the Air America morning show which I beleive is available via streaming. I get it now on 940 am Miami...If people really want to get the truth and not the lies and distortions from the Corporate Media, they should listen to Air America. But don't stop there, question what they say too and do the research yourself.
