Parents VS Kids' Friends

Have you ever noticed, my good friends, that our parents - most of them - are somehow weird about our friends? If your boyfriend is a nerd and by all the criteria a loser they would praise him to the high heaven. Or taken such a situation: your friend is witty, slim, sociable, easygoing; but your parents grow inconceivably suspicious of him: Нe is inexplicably too courteous- apparently he wants to take advantage of our daughter and flee then... Your consideration and objections are welcomed

@Theorema,
Does this courteous teen act like this:

Eddie Haskell: Wally, if your dumb brother tags along, I'm gonna - oh, good afternoon, Mrs. Cleaver. I was just telling Wallace how pleasant it would be for Theodore to accompany us to the movies.

Edward 'Eddie' Haskell: Hey Wally, nobody's home. Let's call up some girls and pretend we're talent scouts. [June walks out from the den to greet the boys] June Cleaver: Hello, Eddie. Edward 'Eddie' Haskell: Oh. Hi, Mrs. Cleaver. Gee Mrs. Cleaver, your hair looks real pretty today. June Cleaver: Well, you should know Eddie, being a talent scout.
