Here's a list of acronyms with APES. ES usually means Spanish; espan'ol.

AP means the newsagency Associated Press.

The ES is an identification code for ... not for Spanish: besides in English, AP has only services in German, French, Italian - but not on Spanish ... Economy Service.
(Media pay AP and newsagencies in general, for their [different] services.)

(That's interesting Walter, both that they have different levels for articles, and that they have services in Italian but not Spanish.)

According to Walter's opinion, ES = Economy Service?

It seems still remaining a puzzle.

Quote:
AP tailors its news and photo reports to reflect the specific regional interests of Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa and offers news in four foreign languages ?- French, Spanish, German and Dutch.
...
In Germany, Switzerland and France, AP offers a strong domestic component to its news and photo services, much like AP's state reports in the United States.

I can't give quote for the AP abbreviations - it was just a guess.

Yes, Walter? Smile
I've known what "AP-ES-07-20-04 1645EDT" referred to except the abbr "ES" before posting the thread.
