Could I use to?

-We hope you are having a great start __ the term! (By TERM, I mean semester in AmE)

OF doesn't sound OK, but TO sounds all right.

WB, Eng is right as usu although "of" was the first thing that popped into my mind, "to" not sounding quite right for some obscure reason

So I presented it to my Better Half, who is much smarter than I, and this time she agreed, w much the same reaction as I

Might be "start to" too alliterative

Forgive purposeful alliteration above

Is that the right word

Thank you Dale, but for Engineer, is your 1st language American English? If yes, I am confused: am I seeing two Americans disagree with each other on my question?

No, Engr is right too; it's just that "...start to the term..." is slightly awkward, alliterative
