See the pic. They are much like apple, but they are not apple. In China, they are called Gala. I didn't know what it calls in English.
'Royal Gala' ... are apples, namely a hybrid of Kidds Orange Red and Golden Delicious apples; first introduced in New Zealand in 1960.
In english we call them apples.

The picture you have posted is an apple varietal called Royal Gala, as Walter has already told you. There are hundreds of apple varietals available.
Gala looks prettier than usual apples. But it is cheaper than the same good-looking apples.

The Commissary in camp started selling Royal Gala apples a couple of years back. They're my favorite apple now.
