Feeling oddly anti-social & quite introspective this weekend. Even cancelled dinner with a friend last night & didn't fancy lunch today (Sunday), either. Confused And it's rained & rained & rained. This is not much fun, really. What's that vitamin you get from the sun? I think I need some! A big dose!Laughing

Don't you like to walk in the rain? Go out in it... get soaked, come home and take a long hot shower.

Ahhhhhh.

Interesting. Been raining buckets here as well. OZ and US having similar weather on the same day is, I think, unusual. The good thing is that here, in North America, Monday is a holiday. Here we celebrate Columbus Day. In Canada it's Thanksgiving. I looove three-day weekends.

We're having the first cool Sunday morning since sometime last spring. The drought is hanging in. I had neglected to water the bald cypress tree in the front yard, not realizing how the water table has dropped, until I drove in last week to see its leaves turning brown. I hope the watering I'm doing now can save it. It's also the eve of my five day vacation. I'm bound to the house and local areas, because we have a new man on the job and I've volunteered to be available for emergency situations. I need lots of rest after the extended summer, so it's not all bad.

It's Vitamin D. I knew somebody once who always referred to sunbathing as "getting my D-bennies." Bennies was his way of abbreviating 'benefits.'

Well, it's Monday here now. But, as today is a holiday in North America, I don't mind at all.

I think you have to have a dog to have a good, solid reason to be a rain walker, Piffka. And not having one, hey, do you think I'm crazy or something? It was really teaming down out there! Nah, it was just one of those periodical "what the hell am I doing with my life?" days. I don't recommend them. To be avoided if possible!

Half your luck, Andrew! Sounds good to me! Laughing

Yes, I think you're right: It's D. Supposed to be very good for you! D-bennies - I'll remember that! Very Happy

Yes, I am, thanks, Deb. Contemplated a "sickie" this (Monday) morning, then decided to go ... this being one of my half days & all! I got home around 1 pm &, against all the predictions of the weather bureau, it was an EXQUISITE, sunny afternoon! So spent a good part of the afternoon getting filthy, gardening. Now that has to be the best pick-me-up I can think of! Very Happy The heavy rains have transformed my little garden! Everything's green, or bursting to flower, or just growing like crazy! Fabulous! Very Happy

I hope you do manage to save that tree, edgar. Nothing worse than losing a well established tree! Sad
