The day is March 7th 1936 Hitlers Nazi's walk into the Rhineland once again putting a military presence closer to France. The British beg France not to take any forceful actions. But had they ignored the british and instead send a force in therefore inacting hitlers orders to retreat, would there have been a second world war? But i want you guy's to answer this carefully because not only do i want your opinion but i want you to take into consideration what the results would be. had there been no war then would we have the technology and medical knowledge we have now and also would you have been even born?? Is our accomplishments worth the 55 million people who died in world war 2........you tell me.

Smack Down
The Frogs should have put the Smack-Down on the Krauts then and there and saved the world a decade of horror. Once the H-Man's political clout goes down he can not bluff and bully the world quite so easily. That was not the time to be timid.

As for Technology and Medical accomplishments, etc.: that stuff was in the pipes anyways and would have come along directly. It is crazy to think that getting tech a couple of years earlier is somehow worth all the death and destruction.

Not nessesarily at that time medical and technological advancements were very low, we might not have found cures to certain diseases which could have killed many more than that war did. Also our space exploration days would have been backed 30-40 years what if we were not able to detect astroids or other anomalies which could have saved lives?

Hitler already had his mind made up. Hitler had already planned to take over all the land that was taken away from Germany after WW I.
Science and technology advance much faster during large wars.
As for the response of what about all the lost lives, yea so what. War will always happen. War has never and will never cease. And if you dont like this war, travel to another country for that war.

War, comming soon to a theater near you!

I doubt it would have made much difference. It was a win-win for Hitler either way. One way, he was a hero that took back the Rhineland. The other way he was a hero for trying to do so and could count on even more "nationalism" because of the actions by the French. Hitler was already playing the card of Germany being mistreated. One more example of that mistreatment would have been helpful to him. Without removing Hitler from power and/or complete isolation of Germany in world trade this was only going one direction.
