-The audience members are vested the right to vote for their group this year. We will be awarding an extra award to a group based on the votes of all audience members!

Are my sentences correct?

WB, "vested" sorta means "given," tho we'll undoubtedly get some more definitive response in this, remarkable a2k

And "awarding an extra award " sounds redundant, or is there a better word, like maybe "alliteration, or is it "tautophonical"

Repetition of "award" in the second sentence is not good style.

Say rather, we are giving an extra award to, or, we are making an extra award to...
