weight gain with oral contraceptive

hii....I am on oral contraceptive...I have started to gain weight. I wanted to know that is it due to contraceptive pills?

Contraceptive pills will surely have some side-effect, but not so sure whether it will gain weight.

HI Jespah,
one of my friend has suggested me for the oral contraceptive. She also use the same but she has not put on weight.
