Here's a story divided into 2 paragraph,the first one is in the past time about a poor girl's parents death:her father got an accident while her mother remained in bed and died several years ago.The second one shows how the girl managed to live:living on charity,getting help from the neighbours and finally,she lived with her mother's cousin,who is a teacher in Los Angles.
Why does the author use the different tense?Could anyone tell me the reason,please~
@Moonapple,
Please post both paragraphs in the original words. It's impossible to understand the context from a paraphrase.
@FBM,
Yes you are right we can suggest after reading both paragraphs.
@FBM,
Thanks for your help.
I'm so sorry that I don't have the original essay,I read it from my teacher's PPT.
@Moonapple,
Wish I could have been more helpful, but without the text I'd just be guessing.
@Moonapple,
I suspect that the second paragraph was intended as an epilogue to the first.
@FBM,
I know.Thanks all the same.
