@snood,
On the news blackout today there is a story about Bernie Sanders surging past Clinton and Trump in New Hampshire (I thought I heard that before?)I guess Yahoo caved into the pressure to give Bernie some news.

Bernie Sanders Surges Past Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush Implodes in New 2016 Poll

Quote:
Bernie Sanders has moved past Hillary Clinton for the first time in the 2016 presidential campaign, jumping ahead of the former Secretary of State by nine points in New Hampshire.

In a new NBC News/Wall Street journal poll, Sanders sits at 49 percent vs. Clinton’s 38 percent; the poll showed many voters cited Clinton’s personal email use as a problem for them.

As the Vermont Senator surges, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush–once thought to be the shoo-in candidate for the Republicans–fell to six percent support in an Iowa poll, 23 points below frontrunner Donald Trump. The real estate mogul drew 29 percent support while Dr. Ben Carson came in second at 22 percent.

In New Hampshire, Trump is also out in front at 28 percent; Ohio Governor John Kasich comes in at second at 12 percent and and Carson is at 11 percent.

Media is covering the polls at length on a slow Labor Day news day; the results on the Democratic add fuel to the increasing fire that is the call for Vice President Joe Biden to enter the race. Biden drew 12 percent of the vote in New Hampshire without officially announcing his candidacy.

As a strong debater and authentic speaker with appeal to blue-collar voters, Clinton’s slide will surely play a factor in the vice president’s decision, which is expected to be announced by the end of September.

No offense, truly, but I hope it really don't come down to Sanders vs Trump. I would be hard pressed to say who would win, might even be Trump. Nightmare.

Like I said...you are free to disregard what I write, Izzy...or of course, you are free to read what I write and then talk about the reasons you think it makes me look daft.

Whichever helps float your boat.

Only in your belief system, Frank.

I do not have a belief system, Bobsal.

@Frank Apisa,
Frank...
One person says "I bet you this person will win this contest."
Another person says "I predict this person will win this contest".
A third says "I believe this person will win this contest."

Tell me what the difference is , IN EFFECT, in what these three people are saying.

@snood,
Don't go there, it's like trying to get a bald bloke to admit he's wearing a wig. It's not going to happen, Frank will just get very very cross and never answer your question.

@revelette2,
One state wont make a nominee. Everyone is getting excited about him doing well in ultra liberal states but will he do as well in the rest of the country. If he does I will be one of the few Lash appointed conservatives to vote for him.

The use of the word "believe", Snood.

I do not do "believing"...which I consider to be using the words "believe" and "belief" in place of other, more honest, words.

In most conversations IT DOES NOT MATTER...as I have said many times. (It doesn't really matter in those three examples of yours.)

But when we get into the "I believe there is a GOD" and "I believe there are no gods" threads...

...IT DOES MATTER.

So rather than shy away from use of those words just in those cases...I do not use them at all.

Why does that annoy you?

@Frank Apisa,
On the surface you did, but the real question is why you have such a Pavlovian reaction to what is a rather innocuous word.

I actually answered his question.

I have no Pavlovian reaction to what is a rather innocuous word...although I do not necessary consider it innocuous in certain contexts...as I have mentioned several times.

I cannot help but wonder why it bothers you so.

That is not an answer to the question asked, and I think you know that. I do not at all give a **** about your personal choice between words that are synonymous in the context of this discussion.

More filibustering about your own personal choice between words. See above absence of a **** given.

See that little part there, in parentheses? That would be known as an answer to the question asked.

But when we get into the "I believe there is a GOD" and "I believe there are no gods" threads...

...IT DOES MATTER.

No one asked, and it is so very far beside the point it begs the question why you tried to squeeze it in.

So rather than shy away from use of those words just in those cases...I do not use them at all.

No one cares.

Why does that annoy you?

Don't flatter yourself. I really don't think I can care any less about your personal choice of words and the deep philosophical reasons behind it. Now, when your idiosyncrasies muck up, derail and otherwise obfuscate honest discussion, that annoys a LOT of people.

Sorry my refusal to use the words "believe" and "belief" have caused you such discomfort.

So is that a story about how the media is writing adoring pieces about Bernie, complaining about how the media isn't writing enough adoring pieces?
