I'm not patriotic enough to not bet on Australia if I think they will win.Other than that sort of thing I would say I'm pretty patriotic.More than that lot of flag waving jingoists anyway. The only time I was abroad at Royal command, and don't bother is my advice,I kissed the tarmac on returning.

It's a good word is "WHAT?".Have you ever had an English Rose blurt it at you when she suspects what you're thinking. You always are thinking when they do that. It's uncanny.

What about the cricket then?

*I have to go to the pub now.Be back by midnight I hope.

There was that drying-up cloth with the rules of cricket on it - to do with you're in till you're out and all that sort of thing. I should explain bowling a maiden over and silly mid-off. And long fine leg.

Do you play any of these summer games - tennis, cricket, rounders?

I have done but find them too time consuming now.
Late night snooker with the maids is quite nice but I do wish they would use the rest instead of climbing onto the green baize. They both have such short legs.

Are you a snooker player?

Misspent youth? Well, on and off. I have a 3/4 size pool table needing a good home.

Do you ever get seriously pissed off with computers and their peripherals?

I can't say I do actually.Life is much too short to spend any of it in a pissed off state. Some of the "peripherals" of computers I find quite fascinating especially on the trivia threads.

Don't you find politics a bit numbing?

Steve--CONCENTRATE!

Yes I do work.Somebody has to.

Steve and I and hopefully others are toying with the idea of naturalising aidan to the English way of life using cricket.

Do you like cricket?

Do you think Norman Tebbit's famous 'cricket test' would be appropriate for Aidan?

I certainly do but that should not be taken as signifying agreement with many of Mr Tebbit's other views. But he is a decent man and talented. His wife was very badly injured in the Brighton bombing and he has dedicated his life to her care. His restraint has been ennobling.

Do you think a good start could be made by a brief description of the origin of The Ashes?
