I heard they are good things to have but very difficult to find.Of course one can pretend to have them but that is not the same as actually having them.I don't pretend to have any and if I do have any,and I cannot be the judge on that, they must come naturally to me.It can often be a vice,if I may use your definition,to take selfish pleasure out of pretending to be virtuous or from the devilment in indulging a vice.Actions which come naturally really can't be either.

Would you agree?

It was really funny reading this without knowing what you were talking about...

Did you back any horse in the Derby?

He apparently did! He did say quite a bit without saying
anything, didn't he? Virtues are hard to come by these days.

Have you had dinner yet?

Yes! I bought fresh olive bread, various cheeses, and this
and that. Awfully crowded though on Saturdays. And as
usual, I forgot something <sigh>

Do you have a good memory?

It depends what for. Most stuff goes in an out.I remember that sentence of yours about the vets.I remember most things that are interesting. My mind seems to screen out boring things.I'm conscious of having a limited number of brain units where one unit can hold one thing.I know it isn't true but I use it to make the screen.Anything boring just fills them up for nothing. That's why I hate those quizes.

You don't do quizes do you Cal?

Not very good, but it's better because I don't make shopping lists - keep it in training. ( I work with '8 Times Memory Champion' Dominic O'Brien who can remember 54 packs of cards.)

What is the best thing in your life?

I do my own mental quizzes spedius. I used to have an excellent memory and now, my mind seems too cluttered,
and I forget things.

Clary, the best thing in my life is definitely my child. Nothing
compares to that.

How about yours?

I honestly can't think of anything. I'm probably too content
with my life.
Hypothetically speaking, what would be the worst, I'd have
to say, an incurable disease.

Are you healthy?

Extremely - although I have 3 close friends of my age with incurable diseases.

Cal:-

It is usually what I'm doing at the particular moment.Existentialism you know.

Hey I caught your name on Legal and read your post. That sums me up but I think "doomed" is a touch strong.Odd that.Spotting your name in a fast scroll I mean.My screener is up to speed.

Are you in favour of that?

Clary, I am a firm believer in eating nutritious food, and
live healthy, and be content with your life. Although I don't
really want to live too long. Wouldn't want to be the oldes
broad in the rest home.

spendius, does this mean you agree with my post? Was it
about Michael Jackson?

Do you think he's guilty?

Cal:-

I do but not quite "doomed".

I don't give an on the wing cheek peck either way. It's for lawyers.A business. There are millions of things going on in the world much worse than the worst thing they have accused Whako of.Every day.Maybe every minute. It's out of proportion. The indecency of it all is deplorable.

Wouldn't you rather change the subject?

We could talk about the weather hahaha. It's the stand by at the pub. It's okay for strangers to get something going with but aside from that,or when the weather is extreme,it's useless.

I once opened up on a strange young lady by asking her whether her hairstyle was modelled on that famous picture of the Goddess Isis.

How would you have reacted to that assuming you didn't know what I was talking about, which she didn't?

I would have taken it as a compliment and thanked you.
To be the initiator of a conversation is never easy, so if
your line is original, I will honor that.

How did she react?

Quite positively. It was original in the sense of my never having heard it but she did have such a hairstyle so it came out naturally at her prompting.
She mused it in effect.

Do you think writers need a muse?

Sometimes, it all depends on their talents. Don't people do
their best work when they're unhappy? I think so!

Do you agree?
