I would like to go again, yes.

You don't particularly like landings or take offs.

I'm quite comfortable flying, nothing bothers me.

Have you ever travelled on the Ghan or the Indian Pacific?

No, Syd to Bris was long enough on the train, thank you very much.

You don't even think about the microbes flying about the cabin on long plane trips.

I do some cross-stitch (when I get time), I love reading, I collect coins and paper money, specialising in Polymer notes, I love dogs, and I think that's about it.

What about you?

I like to quilt and to garden, I do some water-color...I sing all over the house. That's it for me!

Do your kids play sports?

No, not yet. Eldest turned 6 last week, and other one is almost 3. As we aren't in suburbia, I am dreading the time when weekends are spent driving all over the place for sports meetings.

Also forgot to mention I have a major interest in microbiology. My goal was to become a virologist, and was progressing nicely through a Bachelor of Science degree. Reluctantly gave it away not long after the birth of my youngest due to a lot of medical issues cropping up (he was premmie).

What footy are your guys into? Is it gridiron or what we call soccer?

I will say - when they started playing sports, it became much more complicated. I loved the days when we just played at home! But it's good for them to do this so I try to take it in stride! They play gridiron. Their Dad is a huge football fan...so it is not surprising that they want to play! They are doing well. One was the Quarterback...before his foot was diagnosed with Kohlers disease...the other is a receiver, made two touchdowns today (I'm bragging - sorry) I am impressed...microbiology...that does sound interesting...

Do you plan to go back to it one day?

Yes I do, but without a complete degree, I will have to start at the bottom and work my way up. Thinking along the lines of a pathology lab doing standard work-ups just to get my foot in the door, and then gradually working my way into the microbiology area. It really is so fascinating...I was hooked once I did some research into Ebola and Marburg. Haemorrhagic fevers are my main area of interest, but of course they are non-existent in Australia. (Sorry to go on but I could talk for hours about this subject Laughing )

You aren't bragging...you are just naturally proud of your kids. It's good that you have kids worth bragging about! At what age do they start to play Gridiron over there? Are they all padded up like the pro players we see on TV?

I think it is wonderful you have a passion for the microbiology. Good luck in pursuing that in the near future...I am sure you will do great. This is the boys first yesr playing gridiron. They are just 7 so they are actually playing flag football...so no pads...but they do not tackle - they have a belt that has flags hanging off of either side and when the flag is pulled and thrown down it is considered a tackle or a down. They do everything else but kick though...they pass and hand off - and run it down the field for a touchdown...quite exciting really!

How premature was your baby? The twins were 3 weeks...but you know that is no big deal.

He wasn't too early...only 5 weeks, but was low birth weight. It was 4lb 2, and had to stay in neonatal ward for 3 weeks before coming home.
The flags are a great idea for the younger kids. The tackles just look like full-on ram raids, so it must be a relief to know they are not going down that path just yet!

Do the kids go easy on you when hubby is away? Or do they play up more?

Kids are pretty much the same when Dad is gone as they are when he is here. I am the primary care giver and I am pretty tough on them. But we have fun too. I just knew with three boys and a Husband that travels I would have to be consistent...so hard, but it makes life easier than it would be if I wasn't.

4lbs 2 - so tiny! My twins were 6lbs 8 and 6 lbs 5. And I thought they were small!

Three weeks is still a long time to be away from your baby. He is okay now?

That is good to hear! My baby is four. Quite a pistol! Thinks he is 7 like his brothers.

You going to have any more?

No. We consider ourselves extremely lucky with what we've got, so don't want to tempt fate. Your twins were a nice size. Were they early? Do you think you'll try for more?

I looked like a watermelon about to split! They were three weeks early! Came right home with me though. I think the Dr. told me that twins actually develop faster than singletons...amazing to me. We are done to be sure...three is a divine number. I am busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest with these three as it is. Though I do love babies!

Do you work outside the home?

No. I was going to wait until the youngest was at school. Goodness knows it took us long enough to have them, so we want to enjoy them as much as we can. He goes to kindy 2 days a week though, mainly for socialisation. Leaving him in the hospital for the 3 weeks was the hardest thing I've had to do in my life. Of course I was there from morning until night, but emotionally I had a difficult time.
I sometimes go round the bend with my 2, so imagine you would have even more troubles with THREE of them!

What grade are the twins in? Assuming they go to school?

Oh - the difference between two and three boys is not that much I don't think. They are still noisy and rambunctious! Laughing I can't imagine having to leave your babies in the hospital for so long...I am sure you were exhausted emotionally and physically.

The twins are in 2nd grade. They love school...thankfully!

How long is your little one in kindy those two days?
