As a matter of fact I plan to get two orange trees and a lemon tree from the local nursery over the weekend.

I'm not a fan of Dylon, much more prefer listening to Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones singing I Can't Get No Satisfaction. I think he is a marvellous ambassador for England.

Ared you a fan of your Royal Family?

No. I'm generally pretty accepting. But if something is not acceptable to me, I have no trouble moving on to find something that is. That's true with places or things.
On the other hand if people I love behave in what I believe to be unacceptable ways toward me- I find it almost impossible to move on until I have worked my hardest to effect an acceptable change or at the very least-a mutually satisfactory meeting of the minds.

Do you think dissatisfaction should always be voiced (politely) to at least try to effect positive change?

Who me? No, I'm off the plonk. I don't know why, but I just don't have a taste for wine these days. I seem to be more drawn to a nice pale ale or lager these days.

What's your drink of choice?

In hot weather like we have a lot here, an ice cold beer, in the cooler evenings rum and coke or whiskey.

I like both- I guess Thai always seems like a little more of a special and exotic treat than Chinese- although I found this take away place that makes the best king prawn fried rice I've ever had.

They do in pubs, but whenever we go bush camping or do something similar from 5 o'clock in the afternoon onwards "Happy Hour" is always on the agenda. What better way to see the sun go down than with a "coldie" in your hand!

Would you like camping under the stars like we do?

I love it- as long as you don't get attacked by mosquitos and it doesn't rain.

(When I was young with no kids and lived down south (in the US) where it was hot- happy hour was always my favorite time of the day).

Do you have wild animals and/or snake or insect worries out in the bush when you are sleeping under the stars in Australia (or have I been watching too many movies like the one Meryl Streep was in where the dingo carried off that little baby)?

There are I suppose but you take precautions. Don't pitch your tent on the edge of a river where there are crocodiles, you carry insect repellent with you, and keep a camp fire burning to keep the snakes away. I've been camping for many years and never struck a snag yet. One last tip, don't camp in a dry creek bed either you run the chance of being washed away during the night should it rain! Smile

Not at present in our little section of the woods, however we have only had a splash or two of rain of late and we anticipate a hose-pipe ban in the near future.

Yes I do, have a 1000 gallon tank, water only used for garden as we have an asbestos roof.

Do you have rainwater tanks in the UK like we have here?

Some people do. I worked for a woman who collected rain water from this piping system she had running from the gutters of her outbuildings into huge metal drums. They were never empty the whole time I worked for her- we used that water to water the animals and greenhouse plants, etc.

Yes we have regular droughts, not quite as bad as the present one though, which engulfs the whole country and is the worst in living memory. I live in the driest State of the driest Continent in the world, and have been to places where it hasn't rained for years, seven years to be exact.

Do you think Global warming is to blame for our present predicament?
