Not sure about Amersfoort though it rings a bell. I have friends in Amstelveen, is it close by? I love the canals of Friesland, had a fabulous holiday there about 10 years ago in a boat.

Yes, I think on balance it is the cleanest form of energy; I was referring more to the carbon dioxide released into the upper atmosphere by jet engines, thus depleting the ozone layer rather quickly and contributing to weird weather worldwide.

At the moment yes because of the ineptitude of our extremely shortsighted and weak politicians, both Federal and State. All they need to do is harness the enormous downpours in Tropical Northern Australia and all our water problems in the Southern States can be solved. The pollies have talked and talked for years about the water problem but not implemented what needed to be done. Presently our 2nd largest river, the Darling is dry, and our largest river, the Murray will stop flowing in March!

It's a possibility, though not one I relish much. However if we can't even get the political will to move some water from north to south Australia, I don't see how we can colonise toxic dustbowls like Mars and Venus.

ask her what she's been doing for the past centuries letting so many people suffer

If your town is deep inland, it could still be affected by floods if it is low lying - is it low lying?

Never, the predictions, only the character assessment; it fails only 1% of time in my experience. Look at your friends and see when their birthdays are - bet they cluster in certain sunsigns.

How do you account for great differences in character in one family?
