Must we? I suppose one might say so. That you do is obvious Mathos. What else is there to say?
On that subject nothing.A bunch of assertions ain't worth a blow on a ragman's trumpet.Could be wishful thinking.Could be true.Could be a wind up.Could be writing for writing's sake.Who knows.
Make a video-let's see some action.
Have we to have a Pop-Off Idol competition?
No dev.We can go back to art as long as we are prepared to ignore fatuous distractions.
Don't you agree?
No problem. Where were we again?
What do you like most about art? Are you more partical to sculpture, painting...?
The talent is the main thing. The degree of difficulty.
The main thing is to get rid of the snob side of it.If you do that it can be as functional as a can opener.
I've seen people on the telly talk about Dylan as if he's a fashion accessory.Something for them to use to look good. The whole educational system is riddled by such nonsense.
Can you see what I mean?
I think I do. Aren't people funny? Talking about a person's talent whatever it is as if they had somthing to do with it, or it makes them better somehow to be in the know. I feel sorry for people like that. Not confident in themself so they have to name drop or something. I think a true talent like Dylan's or Michelangelo's is to be appreciated and admired, the talent I mean, maybe even more so than the person. Does that make sense to you?
I've enjoyed studying art and music, etc. (had to do an analysis paper on "Tambourine Man" once), but mostly I like to just appreciate, admire and enjoy it for what it is. There are talents I wish I had and admire them very much in those who have them.
Is there a talent you don't possess that you wish you did?
(I suppsose there are two questions in there, but you can handle it!)
There sure is dev.
I would give my eye teeth to be the world's best striker and score the winning goal in the World Cup Final and have champagne squirted all over me and be the idol of the groupies or even score a double century for England at Lords against the Aussies' bowling.I used to dream about that but I'm much too lazy and easily tempted to ever have done it.I did score a century once at school and quite a lot of goals in various places.
But I don't do wishing anymore.Reality is pretty good I think.Except I wish I was sixteen and could start all over knowing what I do now.I was a right twit at sixteen.(cue brilliant insult.)
Do you wish that?
Cricket is the supreme work of art but all sport is to some extent. It's about impressing girls.Well-it's second to language anyway.
To go back to sixteen having the knowledge I have now? You bet I would. I've learned so much since then, but I would be much easier on myself! I used to be so "type A" perfectionistic. I've relaxed a lot over the years. I was always way too hard on myself and took things too seriously. I would have had MORE fun. I would have liked to enjoy my life more.
Is there anything you wish you could do now that you haven't yet?
I wouldn't mind having a roll in the hay with you at sixteen knowing what you know now.
Ought I to be ashamed of myself?
Yes! <mock horror>I didn't roll in the hay at sixteen. I was quite a good girl. Had to get out from my parents' thumb & go to college to let loose.
What were you like in your school days?
The long answer or the short one!
Which would you prefer?
Yes! Got nothing but time here!
I already told you that I was a complete twit at sixteen.
Wouldn't you prefer to know how I corrected that rather than how I got like that?
spendius, I think you are neat, but how you got that way or how you corrected the sorry business just might be too much information for me.
Would you like me to sing you a song?

Would you like me to sing you a song?
Sure.Go right ahead.I like songs. One more won't make much difference.
How many songs would you guess you have heard?
Probably damn near everything execpt the stuff that Celine Dion and Shania Twain have done. Actually have had to endure Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond a few times when I couldn't chew thru the restraints.
So, how's your mother?
My dear Mother.
It brings a lump to my throat to think about her.
I once looked up "nuisance" in the dictionary but it didn't go anywhere near covering my dear Mother.
My Father was six inches taller than her and four stone heavier and he kept his head down.
I was ten before I sorted her out.
