Mercifully not.

So, if you're a vegan, or have a special diet (generalising question) - is that easy when you are out wherever you live, or don't you eat out?

I know Occom Bill ... does he count?

Why are you blaming the fags? Don't they get blamed for everything?

Not going bald, but noticing a little thinning of late.

Is it cheaper or more expensive to eat a vegan diet?

You read me wrong Tico if you thought I was blaming the fags.I was half exonerating them.Try my post again eh?I was questioning those who do blame the fags. Was it not clear?

I don't know which costs most.I don't shop or care about the cost.Guessing I would say vegan is dearest.I can eat as much as I want and I booze and I can't put on any weight.A bit of effort and a vegan diet is delicious but it takes a couple of months to get into the swing.
The rule I follow is no animal products and nothing off a palm tree.Nearly anyway.I do skim milk.

Do you do fatty burgers?

Haha Tico (your book choice) Mr. Green

Yeah, I need meat in my diet. All the vegetarians with their
little carrots and spinach leaves cannot convince me that
this is living.

Steak and potatoes, ha?

Well Cal,and oh how nice it is to see you appear again on the Q's thread, you have been missed,I hope it wasn't a little distemper like when you had that bought in lunch a while back, but it is different for ladies. As far as I understand it,ladies only start feeling the worst of the bad effects of a fatty diet after they have reached a certain point which occurs on average at about 42.Children are also in a different position to mature males.Evolution prepared males for a highly energised lifestyle with an early death."The last rasping gasp of the mantis's groom" as Mr Greenwell so expertly phrased it.

But we are now scientifically inclined and evolution ain't seen nuthin' yet.

Are you in favour of science?

Sorry Tico-duty first.

No.I don't think I couldn't live without meat.Do you know anything at all about what they do to animals to get meat to your door at prices you can afford and leave some over for the other things.Well I do.Not a lot but enough.Enough for me.Why do you think fresh shot grouse is £100 a time on Aug 12.?

Yes, I'm in favor of science ... so long as it doesn't interfere with any of my closely held beliefs .... Shocked

And as far as the second question .... I'm guessing ..... because they have to import it from Scotland?

Do you really pay £100 for fresh shot grouse?
What is "fresh shot grouse"?

It's a bird you might find in the swamp Tico. I sure
wouldn't pay £ 100 for it though. I prefer a goose which
unfortunately isn't cheap either.

What's your favorite food?

This guy goes over to his friend's house and his buddy is at the table, eating. "What are you eating, Bob?" ask the guy.

"Bald Eagle"

"What?! You can't eat bald eagle!!!"

"What are you talkin' about? I've been eating it for years."

"Well, you'd better stop. It's and endangered species and illegal to eat."

"Oh, didn't know that. Ok, I'll stop."

"What's it taste like anyway?"

"Kind of hard to describe. Kind of a cross between whooping crane and trumpeter swan."

I thought it was amusing. How about you?

I've heard salmon has all kind of diseases, and shouldn't
be eaten too often.

I think perch is the best tasting fish. Have you ever eaten perch?

I have never eaten perch.I have asked a few fishermen I know and they say perch is different in some countries to what it is here. Here it is found mainly in ponds and canals. They average about 9 inches but old ones with good food supply can get to 18 inches. They are strong tasting and very few people eat them.I gather that Nile perch are often 3 ft long. They are not commercially farmed as salmon are.

A vegan diet is a lot more than carrots and a few green leaves.Meat business propaganda puts out far too narrow a picture I'm afraid.

Have you looked into the science of diet?

Actually I have. I am always looking to know more though. There's a doctor here, a practitioner of holistic methods. I wish I could afford to go to him. He's helped several of my friends with issues, using suppliments and food as 'cure'. I wish I could say I practice all I've learned, but I'm not that 'good'!

Do you know or are you interested in the 'science of diet? How so, and how do you implement it?

It's easy. You just say to yourself how much time do I spend eating and is something that trivial worth screwing your body up for.If you answer "yes" you have a problem. If "no" I would recommend reading carefully Neal Barnard,MD.His book FOOD IS A WONDER MEDICINE (The power to heal is on your plate.) is a reasonable start point.

You are what you eat-that's how so.

The psychological trick is to see eating as trivial and actually a sodding nuisance.

Are you a comfort eater?
