Yeah, now we know, but before it wasn't clear, if the passenger got out on time.

What we discussed? You said that men are pretty useless, right?

No.You are misquoting me.

I said,or rather hinted,a trifle heavily maybe, some might say sarcastically, that you thought men were useless for you not being able to indulge yourself without causing a big mess.

Isn't that the case?

No not at all.

Gosh, why on earth would you say such a thing?

Because you said-"aren't scientists supposed to research that?"

You said that in a tone which implied the pollutions had nothing to do with you and were the job of research scientists to sort out and that they had failed and were therefore useless.

Would you like it if we did sort it out?

Pah, you omitted half of what I said, which was "We have to find a way to purify the air and use less pollutants".
The operative word is WE. In no way have I suggested that scientists are men only, or that they have failed so far and are useless.

Agreed?

I don't know that I can say I agree or not because I'm almost intimidated to participate in this thread now - it seems to be dominated by CJ and spendius, the two mighty questioners.

Don't you two get along just mighty fine?

They seem to, don't they pragmatic? Nice to see you btw. You haven't been around lately.

Should we leave this thread to them and start a new one?

Hi clary! I think that someone should title this the CJS<pendius>Q<uestions> (and others) thread. That would be a laugh!

You're right I haven't been around here lately. More focused on asian relation issues at the moment.

How have you been clary?

Lovely thanks, had a 2-week tour of friends in England which was good fun. Asian relations sounds - fraught! Your personal relationship? Or general racial issues?
I might just start another questions thread - look out of questions thread 2!

General question for any reader: What do you think will happen in the Iraq/Islamic 'conflict' (as perceived by some) with the white western world?

Clary-

It will work itself out in the fullness of time according to well established historical principles.

We have freely elected our leaders and it behoves us to allow them to deal with it how they think fit. They are advised by thousands of experts who have lived with the problem night and day for years.Any suggestions from the likes of us will have already been scrutinised at great length.Such suggestions are a teeny bit gratuitous and are more in the way of entertainment.I don't think the country is in any way on a war footing.

This thread is not the personal fiefdom of CJ and myself. If it looks like it is it is because others have failed to join in for their own reasons. The thread is,obviously, open to anyone to either answer questions we pose or to pose questions of their own.And that does happen.
It is 5pm where I am before CJ even wakes up and it is 2pm where CJ is when I depart for the pub.And we both work and have many other things to do.That allows plenty of scope for others to use the thread when we are not on it and indeed there is also plenty of room for others when we are on.
The snidey sarcasms above are simply soft solipsisms.

If another questions thread is started I feel sure that both CJ and myself will be chipping in on it.What is being suggested is similar to the back row in a classroom going off to play at marbles because they find the subject matter too challenging or difficult.

It is only a bit of fun after all. CJ and myself seem to like rattling each others cages. She plays a mild feminist hand and I play a very mild male chauvinist hand.If that intimidates I advise avoiding any serious discussion between militants on either side.

So join us by all means. We would welcome it.The more the merrier. If CJ and myself get along mighty fine this way maybe you all would if you got stuck in and you might get a better understanding of the opposite sex or of views other than your own.

What are you having for afternoon tea?

I would need more light to be cast upon that enigmatic pronouncement before I could find a motivation to address myself to it.

But I liked the snort.

More light, mehr licht. It was Goethe's last word.

Is this enough?

Well okay then.

No.I never considered otherwise. It is obvious that people who didn't join the debate between CJ and myself had their own reasons. It seemed too simple a question for a sophisticated city dweller and I couldn't see the subtlety I expected to be there.

It was reported as Goethe's last word more like.

Will I get enlightened or not?

I dont know as the enlightenment here can only come from your own reflection.

You never considered otherwise but can you try?

Listen my friend.I cannot fathom what point you are making.I am quite happy for it to be due to my stupidity. That doesn't bother me in the slightest.

What exactly is the point you are making?

The point I'm making is obviously missed by you. It has nothing to do with stupidity but with inhability to consider other people's views. Like thinkink that it's obvious if other people dont interfere no more in this thread it's because they fail to do so...

Dont you think it could be for other reasons?

There are no other reasons than the one I stated which was,if I recall correctly, that other people failed to contribute "for their own reasons".I did not make any suggestions as to what those reasons might be.There are so many possibilities. Is there one particular one you think I had in mind because if there is you are mistaken.

What are we on about here?

So then it's stated.

Do you see any reason for which I should arise a debate on people's reasons for intervening on a game?
