I'm pretty leisurely I would say by modern western standards but by some standards I have read about I'm a frantic bundle of nervous energy looking for something to bounce off.I haven't got to the point of primal screaming yet.

What is it like?

Refreshing when everything feels like it's caving in on you - the kids, the bills, blah-blah ...

What would you say France is like?

Devvie - England is beautiful- especially Somerset, Devon and Cornwall which are the southernmost and more rural counties (which are the equivalent to states in the US). Very green, rolling hills. The sky is very vividly blue when it's sunny and the clouds seem almost painted on, and very close to the earth - you feel like you could reach up and touch them. It's very rural here and so every green hill looks like a painted landscape dotted with cattle and sheep grazing. Very idyllic and beautiful. And the coast is breathtaking. I don't know if you've ever been to Maine - but it is very rocky and dramatic - akin to Maine's coast. If you ever get the chance to - you should make a point to see it.

Have you been able to travel as much as you have desired?

No, that's why I'm 'in transition.' I'm currently in the U.S. I'm hoping to get a working holiday to Oz sometime in Sept. then migrate to Europe next year. I want to live all over!

Are you from the U.K. originally or a transplant?

I have tried to but I'm afraid you will have to offer an explanation.

Is that possible?

Mathos wrote regarding our great national summer game-

"..it's like running around in a padded cell."

and

"It's a little like watching cement dry."

If we agree not to comment on the abysmal nature of the two similies we can at least thank Mathos for such enlightened and useful insights.I am sure they are of great benefit in the ongoing dumbing down process which so characterises much of modern life.

Would "a lot like watching cement dry" be any different from "a little like watching cement dry"?
I think we should be told.

It all sounds like criticism and sarcasm to me-
both the descriptive opinions and the commentary.

Is it meant to be tongue-in-cheek?

It's a matter of semiology.

Wasn't that the purpose intended?

A matter of semiology.No.Certainly not the purpose.

Could semiology be the object of a purpose?

Semiology is analysis of the mean that conveys the purpose. But it could also be the object of a purpose.

Is it otherwise in your view?

spendius is just kidding, nothing else. If anything
it was Semiology.

We know him (spendius) by now, don't we?

Presumably you mean as a study. Then obviously I agree assuming I grant the purpose valid. To earn money say.Or to look sassy.

Would they be valid purposes?
