The following sentences have been taken from Azar Grammar Exchange forum. I want to know what are differences of meaning between them.

1. The book was written in the same year that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was
published.

2. The book was written in the same year as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published.

Are there any alternative method to express this sentences? What are they?

@Nousher Ahmed,
Both of those seem equally acceptable to me. It's also possible to elide the relative pronoun altogether:

The book was written in the same year The Adventures... (Book titles are italicized.)
