My four year old grandson, seemingly out of the blue, began explaining to his father the difference between hypothesis and theory. Yet there are countless numbers of adults who don't have a clue.

@edgarblythe,
A 4-year-old? Seriously? Holy crap. Sign him up here and see if he can get it across to some of the people who can't seem to grasp it. Laughing

@FBM,
When I was four I had no idea that people studied anything.

@edgarblythe,
I'm pretty sure that the most intellectual thing I did at that age was to eat dirt.

@edgarblythe,
Yes, indeed . . . witness how many times we get some yob around here who says: "It's just a theory." Gravity is "just a theory." One wonders if they have the strength of conviction to step off the top of a 20 story building.

@edgarblythe,
Don't usually click on videos, but Harold Lloyd is always a hoot. And the Babe. Great!

I thought about having an atheist moment there

Nah!

@Setanta,
The kid is intelligent for sure. But I don't see how this can stay relevant. I expect he will have to re-learn it one day.

@FBM,
there's plenty but you forgot the most important part of your body to use: your heart. and not the one that just pumps blood. lol

@vansdad,
I don't have a heart that doesn't pump blood. I do have compassion, though. I use it when I'm engaged with people, but not when I'm engaging bad ideas.

@edgarblythe,
In the ventricles, you can see actual heart strings. If somebody ever starts tugging on mine, I'm going to have bigger things to worry about than whether or not there is an invisible guy in the sky running things.
