Apparently not. Each negative in that sentence is modifying a separate verb, and both are essential to the message. Study up on it: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/double+negative

The church has stood, a rock colossus of bigotry, in the path of ten thousand proposed reforms. Sane efforts to legalize birth control information, the manufacture of proper birth control appliances, appliances for the inhibition of the spread of venereal disease, public instruction in sex hygiene, free clinics for the treatment of venereal disease, the inspection and treatment of prostitutes, controlled prostitution itself, the publication of psychological and physical sex information, aid for unwed mothers—myriad attempts by sane men acting sanely on real problems — have been fought down by church-frightened legislatures and church-dominated courts.

Yep.

But only someone with no regard for logic would suppose this supports the atheistic assertion that there is no god.

Any assertion that "there are no gods" or "this is another day when there is no god" is of no greater value than an assertion that there is at least one. They are all the product of "belief" and "faith."

And that hold no matter how many pictures of dogs and dawn get posted here.

@edgarblythe,
Me, too.

And I have the advantage of being willing to acknowledge I do not know if gods exist in REALITY or not.

Get use to it.

dog is a shepherd
he oft shall bark
he leadeth me with his chew toy
firmly in his mouth
he walketh beside the still water
an eye out for squirrels and possums
surely his tail will be captured
with enough round and round
then he will sleep at my feet
and I run the channels or read

A man said to the universe:
"Sir I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."

Ahhh...another day when we cannot determine if gods exist or not...and anther day when some people will foolishly insist they do...and others will foolishly insist they do not.

Well, if you insist . . .
I'll chalk up another day . . .

@neologist,
Is there a GOD, Neo?

Is it more likely there is a GOD...than that there are no gods?

@Frank Apisa,
Well, I know it's a 'guess', Frank.
But I'd stake my life on it.
There most certainly is a God and He is not the one responsible for the misery mankind has endured for 6000+/- years

Of course, edgar seems equally certain about his asseveration.
